Welcome little one!

She's here! Harper is here! She was born on July 23rd, and my hospital room had a huge window where we could look out into the city. That day there were several 'pop-up' thunderstorms mixed with sunshine, so I'm SURE there was a rainbow somewhere that day, even though I could not leave the room to find it. After all our family had gone through this Summer, our rainbow was finally here--literally and figuratively.
Welcome little one!
This pregnancy & birth was easier than my first--I didn't gain as much weight, and it seemed to fly by. I was induced again, got the epidural after a couple of hours, took a nap, and when I woke up it was time! I pushed 4 times and Harper Elizabeth made her grand debut. She is precious, has a lot of hair that styles itself in an automatic mohawk (too cute!) and Avery just loves her. She actually cried when she met her for the first time in the hospital.
We praise God for another healthy girl! For those of you wondering, we won't be trying for a boy--Ross is great around women ; ).

  2. Oh, Jennifer!! Harper is absolutely gorgeous! I’m glad to hear that everything went well with her delivery… and how precious that Avery was moved to tears! Harper is one very lucky baby to be blessed with such a lovely family. Babies are such treasures and I was moved with each new delivery during my labor & delivery rotations… and I was honored that the families let me participate in such an important time in their lives. What were her weight and height?

Thank you for your sweet words about my Auntie. She was a real trooper… on dialysis for 1½ years and finally said, “Enough.” She passed on one week later. She’s actually closer to your side of the country, in NC. It has been hard living so far away from her.

Congratulations on your happy news! I hope you are getting some rest. Please stay in touch! Do you have Facebook?

    Hugs,
    Lisa
