McCormick Gourmet: Take Two, Herbs de Provence!

The window reveals what's inside--and it's all natural

Since I was asked to be in two videos to help launch the McCormick Gourmet Recipe & Seasoning Mixes, I wanted to share the experience in two separate posts.  Earlier, I detailed my first video shoot with my online and fellow foodie friend Lillian, who is from New York.  We made McCormick's Sweet Basil and Oregano Bruschetta Chicken, a delicious pasta dish.  The second video shoot I participated in took me to meet my online foodie friend & mom of 4 almost grown boys, Valerie from California.  I'll show you Valerie in just a minute.

I don't know about you, but when you're asked to look "like a mom" for something that will be filmed for others, I went into crazy "WHATAMIGOINGTOWEAR??" mode.  Sort of like the time I appeared on our local TV affiliate to cook. You can read about that in a previous post.  I tried on many different outfit combinations, made my husband photograph me wearing them all, and decided on this one.  It's a little funky, somewhat trendy, and very me!  A fashionista I am not.

Anyway, I traveled to Valerie's kitchen in the video in order to share McCormick's wonderful recipe & seasoning mix for Herbs de Provence Roasted Chicken & Potatoes.  Just say it with me--it's so fun!  "Herbs de ProVENCE."  I probably said that 10 times in my feigned French accent during the shoot, which I'm sure may have gotten annoying.  But it was fun!  Back to the recipe--I really want you to know how wonderful these mixes are.  As I stated in my other post, they make a gourmet meal very simple to create at home in a limited amount of time.  No matter what your skill level is in the kitchen, you and your family could benefit from these handy little packets.

Delicious!

I was able to make this meal & photograph it in my own home before sharing it with Valerie, and I have to say, it's my favorite of all the mixes I tried.  It is essentially foolproof--so much so even my brother can make it if he tried (love you, bud!).  My whole family liked it!

During the filming, we were fortunate to work with the same folks who helped create the previous video.  Here are some snapshots of the day of filming:

You have to see Valerie's beautiful face!
And compare her outfit with mine--we did not plan to match,
but I think we work on the same wavelength.

Look for McCormick's Gourmet Recipe & Seasoning mixes.  They're coming to a store near you very soon!
Six delicious varieties:
Sweet Basil & Oregano Bruschetta Chicken
Bourbon Spiced Pork with Roasted Sweet Potatoes & Apples
Garlic & White Wine Chicken Scaloppine
Herbs de Provence Roasted Chicken & Potatoes
Creamy Parmesan & Sun-Dried Tomato Chicken Penne
Smoked Sausage & Pepper Creole Jambalaya

I like to say that they can make "every day gourmet," even if you swear you can't cook.  If you notice, the varieties appeal to a wide range of preferences.  Trust me, you'll look like a superstar and I'm not one to stand behind a product I don't wholeheartedly believe in.

I'd love to hear which one is your favorite, and don't forget to enter my McCormick Gourmet GIVEAWAY which ends May 15th!

McCormick Video Shoot: Take 1 plus Give 1 Away

Many of you know that a few weeks ago I had what ended up being one of the best experiences of my life.  I love to cook, I love to photograph food, but McCormick and Allrecipes turned the tables and shot two separate videos of ME cooking a recipe, and eventually photographing it, along with some of my other online Mom friends.  I'm excited to share this new product with all of you!  I joked during the shoot that it truly could make everyone into an "Everyday Gourmet" because the recipes are foolproof and impressive.  My family LOVED this meal, and I'm convinced that yours will too.
I'll blog about the second video in a future post.

McCormick's new line of Gourmet Spice Blends includes a Sweet Basil & Bruschetta Chicken and this was featured in the first video.  I was able to meet Lillian, one of my online foodie friends from NY, who visited me (I'm from NC) so we could cook it together.  She's on the right.

If you're a busy mom (like me!) who sometimes has trouble cooking a delicious, relatively quick, wholesome meal in the midst of your work & home obligations, Girl Scout meetings, clubs, and soccer season then you are going to LOVE these kitchen helpers!  Lillian shared the Sweet Basil & Oregano Bruschetta Chicken blend with me in our video and it is phenomenal and sooooo easy!!

Here's what you want to look for in your local store--they may not be available now but will be in the very near future:

6 delicious blends
You can tell by the window on the packaging exactly what the ingredients are, but if you're unsure, you can read every ingredient on the back of the package.  What?  Stop?  Yes! I said you can actually read--and pronounce--every ingredient that goes into these mixes.  They are all natural and premixed in exactly the right measurements to create a relatively quick and easy home-cooked meal.  No measuring, no having to substitute one spice for one you're out of, everything you need is in there. With one of these bad boys,  fresh meat and vegetables, and a few simple ingredients we all have at home, everyone can put a fabulous meal on the table in about 45 minutes.  Our videos, when they are released, will show you how.  For now, enjoy your behind-the-scenes sneak peek of the making of the upcoming video from McCormick!

Empty Nesters who value their newfound time and don't want to spend it cooking

See where I'm going with this?
